OK - It is all set. The Fabio Dream Date is JULY
8th! (2002)
And I still weigh in at around 186 - leftover stress
fat from the long days with my son at the hospital.
For a year I let my kids and trainers talk me into
FOOD. "If you are working out, you must eat!"
This is true for men. My son worked out, ate 5 meals
a day, and lost weight.
I did not lose. I gained.
He toned up.
I did not.
The stress fat at my waist has not budged an inch.
I can still leg-lift about 300 lbs. 285 at the gym
Sunday.
I can pull-up 60-80 lbs.
I can do back (dorsi flexor) lifts at 60 lbs with
ease.
I do a chest press with the weights at 50 - not counting
a very heavy machine arm itself.
I have fat arms.
I have fat upper thighs.
I have a fat waist.
NOW they have studies that show that, for women,
eating and exercising will not let us lose weight. Now they tell us!
We actually have to reduce food
intake, drastically, while exercising.
And take sedatives so we can ignore our very angry
bodies who want to hang on to that fat.
Turns out, fat is a SUCCESSFUL MEASURE for survival.
We who are disposed to fat come from a hardy stock
of cave dwellers who could weather the starvation episodes while our thin
brethren died off.
Isn't that nice.
And it turns out that dieting ALWAYS causes you to
put the weight back on, because your bodies want it there, AND you gain
more. Every time.
That's about right. I've noted that. About 10 lbs.
per drastic diet.
This is your body retaliating for the "starvation"
it perceived that you were going through.
They now have studies that show this.
Too bad they did not tell me a dozen diets back.
Now, reducing what you eat by a few calories will
not cause you to lose weight, just not gain more.
It takes less to keep it on than to gain it. Unfortunately.
This is especially true of you are OLD.
And your thyroid has been slowed down.
You body, you see, is "happy".
The PBS show featured at least one person who had
the bypass surgery.
She regained EVERYTHING plus a few more pounds. 500lbs!
And she has given up. (Rosanne eats constantly - to stay at 170 lbs.)
She had made it to about 135.
What hell that must be! (She is not a happy camper.)
I certainly am not best pleased.
I am on a low-calorie diet - and not seeing any difference.
Perhaps no food?
(That's a little drastic!)
I am fit. My asthma is under control. More so with
each gym session.
I can walk about as fast as I was before I took a
few weeks off for the foot surgery.
I can lift about what I have been lifting. My kids
said not to lift higher amounts, just increase the reps.
I have muscles you see.
I have to make sleeves that are bigger than the rest
of the dress size.
To accommodate my arms.
If I flex anything, I will blow out seams.
Why I like stretch clothing.
My legs are rock-hard - except at the top.
I do calf raises with the heavy weights.
I can do 35-40 minutes walking at 3.2 MPH before
I break a sweat.
So why do I not have a waist?
I bounced off Fabio's chest last time and had breast
reduction surgery immediately thereafter.
My chest is still 43".
My waist is 8" bigger than his!
I do not want to bounce off him again!
I would be mortified!
I want my hug! I've earned it!
Back to the sit-ups I suppose.
Ugh!
And more liquid Medifast.
Thank God they make Chocolate.
Epilog
Then I found out that they had changed the mix - added sugar. Medifast
no longer works for me. Sigh! |
